Every skater dreams of having their own graphic on a skate board deck.
At the start of last summer I decided that I was going to figure out how to make my own
I bought a blank deck that was a cool old school shape, and started to think-up some ideas for the graphic
I am deathly afraid of snakes, like I become petrified if I see one
(even on video or in captivity
behind glass)...
I love 80's punk and the angsty yet comical persona inspired my thought process
One day while mowing the lawn I had an epiphany...
So I compiled some reference photos, slapped them into photoshop, tweaked it and made it my own..
and VIOLA! I had a design!
Then I figured a stencil would be the best way to transfer it onto the board so...
I fine-tuned the graphic into some cuttable layers, plugged in my Cricut Dye cutting machine, and popped out all the layers I needed.
Using a few cans of spray paint I had laying around I laid layer after layer(patiently waiting for each to dry before adding the next shapes)
I'll probably do this again in the future now that I have figured it out, it's fun to ride something you designed
